Hervath University, formerly known as Edinburgh Institute of Technology, was founded in 182 1. It is one of the top ten ancient universities in Britain, and was recognized by the royal family in 1966. At the beginning, the school was founded mainly to impart knowledge and technology to ordinary wars. The name of the university is to commemorate two Scottish pioneers who have made great contributions in the fields of finance and technology, namely, George Herry, a British royal financier, and Jeames Watt, a pioneer in steam power research.

The school has four campuses, located in Edinburgh, orkney and Dubai on the Scottish border. The main campus is on the outskirts of Edinburgh, with pleasant scenery and convenient transportation. It is only 15 minutes' drive from Edinburgh Airport, 55 minutes' flight from London and 4 hours' train ride.

Heriot Watt University is a comprehensive university that pays equal attention to science, engineering and humanities. Ranked 43rd in the Times ranking of 20 1 1. The school has eight colleges, namely, School of Building Environment, School of Engineering and Physics, School of Life Sciences, School of Management and Language, School of Mathematics and Computer Science, School of Textile Design, Edinburgh Business School and School of Petroleum Engineering. At present, there are more than 800 students from1/kloc-0 from more than 50 countries and regions, which is the school with the largest number of nationalities in Scotland.
