Generally speaking, freshmen and sophomores are basic courses for English majors, such as comprehensive English, oral English, English pronunciation, English listening, English extensive reading and English grammar writing.

There are some specialized courses in junior year and senior year: advanced English, English interpretation, English-Chinese translation, English lexicology, English linguistics, British and American literature, etc. There will also be courses such as a second foreign language.
