Lanzhou Medical College is a provincial medical college with a history of 70 years. Its predecessor was the College Medical Department of Gansu University, which was founded in 1932. 1942 was changed to Northwest Medical College, 1945 became Lanzhou Branch of Northwest Medical College, 1946 was merged into National Lanzhou University, and 1954 was independently established and named Lanzhou Medical College.
The college covers an area of 549 mu (including two affiliated hospitals, the same below), with a construction area of 408,000 square meters, including 82,000 square meters for teaching and research. The student dormitory covers an area of 46,000 square meters. The total value of fixed assets is more than 550 million yuan, of which the total value of various teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 380 million yuan. The college now has nine secondary colleges, including basic medical college, pharmacy college, public health college, higher vocational college, continuing education college, first clinical medical college, second clinical medical college, third clinical medical college and Bayi College, three departments of stomatology, nursing and medical engineering, three teaching departments of humanities, physical education and foreign languages, two teaching centers and libraries of medical experiment and modern technology education. There are 2 affiliated hospitals (all three-level first-class hospitals approved by the Ministry of Health and the National Clinical Pharmacology Base, and the first affiliated hospital is a national "hundred hospitals"), 5 affiliated hospitals without administrative affiliation (1 pending approval), 35 teaching hospitals, 1 nursing schools, 1 affiliated primary schools. There is a continuing education base for professional and technical personnel in Gansu Province. The college has a strong faculty. There are 3 135 teaching staff (including two directly affiliated hospitals) (89/kloc-0 staff in the hospital headquarters). There are 878 full-time teachers, including full-time teachers 100, 355 deputy senior teachers and 207 lecturers. There are 2 national experts with outstanding contributions, 2 outstanding experts in Gansu Province 10, 43 experts enjoying special government allowances, 59 provincial cross-century young academic leaders, 4 part-time doctoral supervisors and 5 associate professor doctoral supervisors.
The college has a complete set of majors. Undergraduate majors in clinical medicine, pharmacy, preventive medicine, stomatology and nursing 15, and specialties in clinical medicine and stomatology (higher vocational colleges) 10. All undergraduate majors have the right to award bachelor's degrees, and 24 two disciplines (33 majors) have the right to award master's degrees. The doctoral program of surgery and clinical specialty of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine jointly declared with Lanzhou University has been approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee.
At present, there are eight research institutes such as neurology and eight research laboratories such as epidemiology. Among the two disciplines, two first-class disciplines such as integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, pharmacy, surgery, internal medicine, labor hygiene and environmental hygiene are provincial key disciplines, and 32 disciplines such as the basis of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine are key disciplines of medical and health care in Gansu Province. Gansu provincial key laboratory for preclinical research of new Chinese medicine was established. The college has excellent teaching conditions and complete teaching facilities. The newly-built teaching building 16820m2, equipped with advanced multimedia teaching equipment, can accommodate 7000 students at the same time. The library has a building area of 6,093 square meters, more than 600,000 books, more than 800 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and an electronic collection of 700G g.. The mirror stations of eight databases, such as the mirror station of Lanzhou Medical College and China Journal Network, have been built, and electronic reading rooms, audio-visual reading rooms, local area network for document retrieval and medical digital libraries have been established. Now it is one of the medical and health distribution centers in northwest China. Campus network is distributed in all areas of the hospital, and the network center connects home and abroad through broadband network. At present, there are more than 96 students1616, including 432 graduate students, 6,348 junior college students and 94 adult students (including 4,300 self-taught undergraduate and junior college students). The college has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with famous universities at home and abroad. We have cooperated with loyola University School of Medicine, Selford University, Lanzhou University, National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products, Lanzhou Institute of Biological Products of the Ministry of Health, Gansu Institute for Drug Control and other scientific research institutes in many aspects. Approved by the Ministry of Education and Gansu Provincial Government, it was merged into Lanzhou University.
