The scenery of the school is intoxicating (pictured above when you are free)
There are museums and art galleries near the school, and the campus library is also very large.
The University of Adelaide (recommended reading: University of Adelaide application requirements _ admission conditions _ tuition fees for studying abroad _ major) is one of the most prestigious universities in Australia. Founded in 1874, it is the third university in Australian history. The main campus is located in the center of Adelaide, providing modern audio-visual classrooms, first-class laboratories and convenient accommodation. The university library is rich in books, with more than 2 million books and periodicals. The library of the University of Adelaide is not much different from that in China, but the conditions will be better, and the air conditioning and heating will certainly be no problem. It is also convenient for libraries to borrow and return books. Just scan the QR code at the back of the book. Not only the library and Hub Central, but also the entertainment facilities in Adelaide are perfect, and you can enjoy many benefits that domestic universities don't have! There are many activities in the University of Adelaide, and many activities can be eaten and drunk.
The University of Adelaide is different from domestic universities. In domestic universities, classrooms are generally study rooms, but here the study rooms are public areas, and classrooms are only used for classes. Every major has its own architecture. There is a business building in business and an engineering building in engineering. Everyone studies in their corresponding building and needs to swipe their student card to enter.
Hub Central is a good place for self-study, providing many computers, many Apple computers, big screens, printers and so on, open 24 hours a day! Many students study in this room 24 hours before the exam because it is really convenient. There is also a bathroom, which can be used at will. There is also a restaurant. There are many tools for heating meals in the dining room, such as microwave ovens and electric baking pans, where students can solve their own lunches.
How to attend classes at the University of Adelaide?
Business courses are divided into three forms: lectures, tutorials and workshops. Other professional courses are similar to business courses.
The lecture is similar to a big class of more than 200 people in our country, and it will be given by your lecturer. At first, we foreign students certainly didn't listen much because of language problems, but don't worry, because the lectures were recorded at school. You can listen again and again until you understand.
Then there are tutorials, one for each course. The tutorial class consists of about 20 students who have good grades in the last session or doctors who study your major. This tutorial corresponds to what you didn't understand last class and the homework left by the lecture, so you must listen carefully.
Finally, Workshop, that is, group discussion. Like tutoring, there are about 20 people, and there are special teachers to take you to discuss the problem. This group discussion is very important. The group discussion in Workshop of Ada University is included in the final grade, which is different from that in China, so we must pay attention to it.
How does the University of Adelaide take the exam?
The biggest difference between Adelaide University and China is that you must study hard here! The University of Adelaide has three grades: usual grade, mid-term grade and final grade. Usually, your grades are divided into your online questions and your homework. One is the online exam, which is handed in almost every week, and the other is the homework handed in online. Usually the score accounts for 30%-50% of the total score.
But you don't have to worry about the exam. As long as you study hard, you can pass. The teacher will send out a sample paper before the exam, and you can review it according to the sample paper.
Ada basically has two long holidays, one is summer vacation, which lasts almost three months from the end of June to the end of February, and the other is one month from the end of June to the end of July. There will be two weeks in the middle of each semester. So you can use these two weeks to make up the lessons you didn't learn well in case you fail. If you fail, you can make up the exam, but if you fail, it will cost 4000 yuan (a lot of money)!
The problem of renting a house in Adelaide
Finally, let me talk about the problem of renting a house at the University of Adelaide. I suggest that everyone live in the city. It is convenient, environmentally friendly and healthy to go to school on foot. Living outside the city, buses in the four districts of east, west, north and south are generally within 15 stop, and you can get to school in 30 minutes. The most important thing is that you live near the bus stop, because buses in Adelaide usually take 15 minutes, so waiting for the bus is very troublesome!

Renting independently or sharing with others is a favorite accommodation method for many international students, which is usually cheap and flexible. The Accommodation Service Office of the University of Adelaide has fully considered the needs of these students, and established a private rental database specifically for students at school. The database is updated every day and is open to registered students of Ada University free of charge. You can log in with your university user name and password. You can register the rental database in the accommodation service office and contact the landlord free of charge.
Renting a house usually requires a high initial settlement fee, including at least two weeks' rent and a maximum of six weeks' deposit, as well as the purchase cost of furniture, internet and daily necessities in the room, and sometimes the opening cost of electricity, gas and telephone. In the process of signing a rental contract with the landlord, if students encounter any situation that needs assistance, I suggest you go to the accommodation service office for help.
