Baotou Medical College of Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology was established in 1958. It is an earlier general undergraduate medical college in the minority areas of New China. When the school was founded, it enrolled five-year clinical medical undergraduates. 1959 and 196 1 were merged into Baotou medical college.

1965, changed to Baotou medical college. 1978 The Ministry of Education approved the restoration of Baotou Medical College.
