The history of running a school can be traced back to the training course for Tibetan cadres in 195 1. It has gone through the development stages of Tibet Military Region Cadre School, Tibet Local Cadre School, Tibet Administrative Cadre School, Tibet Normal School (established in 1965) and Tibet Normal College (established in 1975). 1985 In July, Tibet University was established. 1999, Xizang Autonomous Region Art School, Tibet Medical College, Tibet University for Nationalities Medical Department and Xizang Autonomous Region University of Finance and Economics were merged into Tibet University. In September, 20001,Tibet Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College merged with Tibet University, and its name was still Tibet University.
The school is divided into Lhasa Campus and Linzhi Campus. Lhasa campus currently has an old campus, a new campus, a medical college campus and a finance and economics college campus, covering an area of 1.400 mu and a construction area of 320,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 65.438+0.5 billion yuan, with a total collection of 800,000 books. The campus network is the main node of CERNET in Tibet, with a first-class library and multi-functional gymnasium in Tibet.
