Bibliography of Postgraduate Entrance Examination for Modern and Contemporary Literature Majors

Since the postgraduate entrance examination, I have experienced many sad stories that make people cry, and my life has been messed up. What should be delayed is delayed, and what should not be delayed is also missed. I just feel dark and dying. Based on my personal lessons, I spread the passionate remarks of "cherish life and stay away from postgraduate entrance examination" everywhere, and advised promising young people in the world not to follow my footsteps-there are good days, so why bother asking for it? Recently, however, some friends are planning to take the postgraduate entrance examination. In order to dispel their enthusiasm, I now list the professional situations that need to be reviewed in the contemporary direction of modern and contemporary literature majors in China to scare off one or two:

1. On Contemporary Literature

In addition to Hong Zicheng's History of Contemporary Literature in China, we should also read his Studies of Contemporary Literature History: Problems and Methods and 1956: Hundred Flowers Age. Especially the previous one, which is the teaching handout of Peking University, is very interesting. Mr. Hong's History of Contemporary Literature in China is very accurate, and every sentence is based on a lot of materials and opinions, so at first glance it may seem thin, but only after reading a lot of papers will you understand the profoundness of this book. The history of contemporary literature in China is more suitable for academic research than trial, so we must look at the problems and methods. This book is a supplement to the history of contemporary literature, and it is very important. After reading it, you will be suddenly enlightened. I have watched Problems and Methods five times, and I am deeply inspired every time. I was chatting with a friend a few days ago. It is generally believed that Mr. Hong's history of contemporary literature will be difficult to surpass in the future for many years, but later we found that there are still many gaps to be filled by future generations, and some conclusions remain to be discussed. Of course, this is another story!

The Course of Contemporary Literature History in China, edited by Chen Sihe, is relatively simple because it is written for undergraduates, but this does not mean that the book is low in gold content. The most valuable part of this book is the combing of folk writing and potential writing. Today, I participated in the academic forum of the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Department of our school. The first class is Chen Sihe's introduction of his pioneering analysis of May 4th literature. After all, it is the "Southern Eight Days" in the study of contemporary literature. From the perspective of information, research and demonstration mode, they all represent the top level in China, and I nodded frequently. I don't necessarily agree with him completely, but his starting point is too accurate. His overall view of China literature in the 20th century is also good.

He's The History of Contemporary Literature in China is also well written, because it was published only last year, so this book has a relatively complete collection of views, and some chapters can even be compared with Mr. Hong's History of Literature. Moreover, this book is more suitable for exams, with clear context and rich historical facts.

Huang Ziping's Grey Column Narration (formerly known as Revolution History Novel) is a great literary review, which deconstructs the revolutionary historical novels that appeared after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and many viewpoints in the book have always been praised. The author is a good friend of Qian Liqun and a great admirer of Lao Qian.

Li Yang's "The Road Against Fate" and "Re-interpretation of China's Literary Classics in 1950s and 1970s" are the works of my mentor who cares about me in name, but never cares about me. The first one is his doctoral thesis, and it is also one of the best doctoral theses of contemporary literature major in Peking University. The latter is an extension of the former. The textual research and viewpoints of these two books are remarkable and of high level.

Cao Wenxuan's Studies on Literary Phenomena in the Twentieth Century and Literary Phenomena in the 1980s had better be read carefully. Teacher Cao emphasizes aesthetics more, which is different from boring literary works. While everyone pays attention to the collection and arrangement of materials, he has been doing the work related to literary aesthetics, which is very rare. It should be noted that Mr. Cao is the director of the Teaching and Research Section of Contemporary Literature in China, Peking University. (Supplement: Novel Gate and the Second World)

For other materials, it's best to look through the volume "Copy Materials of the National People's Congress, Modern and Contemporary Literature of China" published by Renmin University. This is a monthly magazine, the latest research results in China, and the most concerned hot issues at present can be easily found in it. By the way, the biggest research hotspot in 2005 (it may continue to be the biggest hotspot next year or even the year after) is the bottom problem. I really admire the teacher's courage if such cutting-edge problems appear on the postgraduate entrance examination paper. It seems that even Peking University dare not do this, for fear of flashing students.

2. About modern literature

Thirty Years of Modern Literature by Qian Liqun, Wen Rumin and Fuhui Wu. Although there are many shortcomings, none of China's modern literature history can surpass it. After reading Fuhui Wu's works, I realized that as long as there are crazy broken sentences and difficult sentences in the book, it must be this gentleman's masterpiece.

The History of Modern Literature in China, written by Confucius and others, has a clear context, but its content is relatively thin, so it is very suitable as an introductory book.

Wang Xiaoming's History of China Literature in the Twentieth Century (four volumes in total) is divided into two volumes in the new edition. This set of books collected the main papers on the study of modern literature in China from the 1980s to the mid-1990s, and I read them twice. Many of these papers have appeared in the collections of many experts. After reading this and their works, we can grasp their context.

For a general survey of the research on this subject, you can also refer to Mr. Wen Rumin's Overview of Modern and Contemporary Literature in China, which is very refined and comprehensive. Wen Rumin's literary vision is also worth reading.

Wang Xiaoming's Life Can't Face to Face —— Lu Xun's Biography

Qian Liqun seems to have lectures on Lu Xun's studies, and Chen Pingyuan also has a book "The Starting Point of China's Modern Novels-A Study of Novels in the Late Qing Dynasty and the Early Republic of China". Please have a look when you are free.

The History of Modern Literature in China from Summer Solstice to Qing Dynasty was finally published in Chinese mainland, with a thick book and high price. It can be used for reference, but it should be noted that many of these views are comprehensive in the past 30 years, and some are too extreme to prove. Although the summer from the Qing Dynasty to Japan is famous, we should not blindly follow the trend.

Wang Dewei's methods of imagining China: history, fiction and narration, The Suppressed Modernity —— A New Theory of Novels in the Late Qing Dynasty, Leo Oufan Lee's Scream of Iron House and Ten Lectures on Modern Literature and Modernity in China. Both of them were students and Harvard scholars from the summer solstice to the Qing Dynasty, and their knowledge was solid and hard. Personally, I prefer Mr Li.

Zhao Yuan on Ten Novels

The Emotion and Form of Randy's Modern Poetry

Qian Liqun, Huang Ziping and Chen Pingyuan on China Literature and Culture in the 20th Century.

Sunshine and suffering in Wu Xiaodong.

Other information, or that sentence, it is best to flip through the volume "Copies of Materials by the National People's Congress, Modern and Contemporary Literature in China" published by Renmin University.

Finally, we must remind everyone that modern and contemporary review must be combined with works. Without a certain amount of reading, I am afraid it is difficult to understand the significance of literary history and literary criticism. Works are always the first.

If you haven't been scared off after reading the above, congratulations. If you can read the above bibliography carefully, you won't have much problem getting into Peking University. If you are scared away, congratulations. A better life is beckoning to you!

Don't worry, the best things come when you least expect them to.
