1May, 983, the school was established with the approval of the State Council, with the name of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics; 1June, 985, renamed as Guangdong Business School; June 20 13 was renamed as Guangdong University of Finance and Economics. The school has two campuses, Guangzhou and Foshan, with a total area of 2,275 mu. Guangzhou Campus is adjacent to Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, and Foshan Campus is located in Yundonghai Tourism Economic Zone, Sanshui District, Foshan City.
The school focuses on economy, management and law, adheres to the integration of commercial law, promotes the coordinated development of economy, management, law, literature, science, engineering and art, and forms a discipline system with certain characteristics and advantages. Applied economics, business administration and law are three first-class disciplines, which are key disciplines with provincial advantages.
