Interim Measures for the Administration of Undergraduate Course Selection in Lanzhou University

In order to fully guarantee the implementation of the credit system in our school, help students to study independently and develop their personality, optimize teaching resources, and standardize the management of undergraduate course selection, these measures are formulated.

First, the principle of course selection

1. The teaching plan is the overall planning of the school's talent training and an important part of the professional training plan. Students should make their own learning plans and arrange their own learning progress according to the teaching plan of their major and under the guidance of the arrangement of the college.

2. Undergraduate students should arrange the learning process according to four academic years, with an average of about 20 credits per semester, except minor and double-degree courses.

3. Courses with course selection restrictions should meet the conditions of course selection restrictions.

4. Students should choose courses according to the professional teaching plan and course selection instructions within the time specified by the school every semester.

5. Courses that have passed the examination cannot be re-tested.

6. Two or more courses with completely conflicting class hours can only be selected.

7. Students must use their own account and password to enter the course selection system for course selection, and cannot choose courses instead of others. Those who violate the regulations will bear the consequences.

8. Courses that have not gone through the course selection procedures cannot participate in the examination of this course.

9. Those who fail to withdraw from the course within the specified time after selecting the course and do not participate in the course study and assessment without reason will get zero score.

10. Students must attend classes according to the schedule. If the examination results cannot be entered due to the change of class time and place, the score will be zero.

1 1. The courses of the first semester of freshmen are arranged directly by the academic affairs office according to the teaching plans of various majors, and there is no need to choose courses.

Second, the course selection steps

1. Undergraduate students choose courses in the online comprehensive educational administration system. The course selection is divided into two batches, which are held in the middle and the end of each semester. Please pay attention to the home page notice and college notice of the comprehensive educational administration system at that time.

2. The first batch of courses:

(1) The first batch of courses are selected during the semester. Elective courses include college English, political theory, physical education and other public compulsory courses. Students can choose their own teachers and courses from online courses.

(2) The first batch of course selection is divided into two stages: pre-selection and positive selection. Students must take the initiative to choose courses within the specified time, and the system cannot automatically add courses.

(3) Students who are absent from the school due to special circumstances must register with their college within two weeks after the first batch of course selection, which will be summarized by the college and reported to the Academic Affairs Office for by-election, and will not be accepted after the deadline.

3. The second batch of courses:

(1) The second batch of elective courses will be held at the end of the semester. Elective courses include professional elective courses and general elective courses in the whole school. Professional required courses are preset to each student's schedule by the system, and students do not need to choose courses online. For professional elective courses and general elective courses in the whole school, you can choose your own courses according to the requirements of professional teaching plan, your own learning ability, interest and the arrangement of the school.

(2) The second batch of course selection is divided into three stages: pre-selection, positive selection and make-up. If it is necessary to adjust the results of course selection due to wrong selection or omission in the pre-selection and positive selection stage, you can log in to the online comprehensive educational administration management system for adjustment in the make-up and suspension stages. The make-up phase is the first three weeks of each semester, and will not be accepted after the deadline.

4. Students can print their own class schedule for future reference after being elected and withdrawing.

5. Please refer to the course selection process description for the specific course selection method.

Third, matters needing attention

1. Distinguish between pre-selection and positive selection stages.

(1) In the pre-selection stage, the number of applicants for a course can exceed the class capacity. For courses with more applicants than the class capacity, the system will randomly select non-priority students after the pre-selection and before the formal course selection, so as to determine the list of students within the class capacity. Students must log in to the course selection system in the formal course selection stage to confirm whether they are selected.

(2) The number of applicants in the positive selection stage is within the class capacity limit, and no random selection link is conducted. Students who are not selected in the pre-selection can re-select the same courses of other teachers or re-select other courses when they are elected.

(3) The courses whose number of students selected in the pre-selection stage is lower than the lower limit of the number of students who started classes will be closed, and the students who take this course will be regarded as not selected, so they can re-select other courses in the positive selection stage.

2. Students can only log in to the course selection system after paying tuition fees, and choose courses for professional elective courses and general elective courses, that is, students who have not paid tuition fees will be restricted from logging in before the second batch of courses.

3. Students who start to study college English in the second or third grade can choose College English Band 5, Band 6 or other foreign language elective courses after completing the course of College English Band 4.

Four. any other business

1. Adjust the curriculum for students who change majors, demote or transfer classes.

If students change majors, demote or adjust courses, which leads to course changes, conflicts and inability to choose courses online, they can adjust the course schedule within the specified time. Compulsory public courses (including English, physical education and political theory courses) should be handled at the Academic Affairs Office within one week after the start of school, and the adjustment of professional courses should be handled by the college where the students are located.

2. Choose courses for students who drop out of school and go abroad for exchange.

Students who need to take up relevant courses due to suspension or exchange abroad can take copies of suspension or resumption documents or proof of exchange abroad to the Academic Affairs Office to take up relevant courses within three weeks after the start of school.

3. Students who graduate early choose courses.

Students who want to graduate early can't take courses other than this semester online due to the restriction of course selection, but they can get the consent of the college and bring the college certificate to the academic affairs office for by-election within three weeks after the start of school.

These Measures shall be implemented as of the date of promulgation.
