South-Central University for Nationalities, located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, is a university directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People's Republic of China. It has not been included in the "985 Project" or "2 1 1 Project" implemented by the Chinese government to build first-class universities and high-level research universities.
However, South-Central University for Nationalities is recognized as a "national first-class university" in Hubei Province and a qualified university in the "High-level Talents Program for Ethnic Minorities". This shows that although it is not included in the "985 Project" or "2 1 1 Project", its educational quality and influence are widely recognized.
