Inner Mongolia University of Technology, formerly Suiyuan Senior Industrial School, was founded in 195 1. 1958 Inner Mongolia Institute of Technology was established with the help of Tsinghua University and other universities. The school once belonged to the Second Machinery Department, the Agricultural Machinery Department and the Ministry of Machinery Industry. 1983 was transferred to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and 1993 was renamed Inner Mongolia University of Technology. The school is located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and is one of the key universities in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

After half a century of ups and downs, it has been passed down from generation to generation for 50 years. After several generations' painstaking efforts, Inner Mongolia University of Technology has been built into a multidisciplinary university integrating engineering, science, literature, management, economics and law.

The school always adheres to the correct direction of running a school, fully implements the Party's educational policy, takes talent training as the center, discipline construction as the leader, deepening reform as the driving force, accelerating development as the top priority, scientifically integrates school-running resources, and constantly optimizes discipline allocation, so that the efficiency of running a school is obviously enhanced and the quality of education and teaching is steadily improved.

The school now has 17 colleges and departments; There are 46 undergraduate majors and 38 higher vocational (specialist) majors; There are 5 key disciplines at the autonomous region level, 4 disciplines for doctor's degree, 47 disciplines for master's degree and 10 fields for engineering master's degree. 19 On-the-job personnel who apply for a master's degree with the same academic ability as graduate students have the right to award a master's degree in business administration and recommend outstanding undergraduates to pursue a master's degree without examination. It has formed a multi-level coordinated development pattern of graduate students, second degrees, undergraduate courses (including ethnic preparatory courses), general colleges, higher vocational education and continuing education. The school has two key laboratories at the autonomous region level, two productivity promotion centers at the autonomous region level, an experimental demonstration base of new energy in the autonomous region, and an application research center of manufacturing resources planning in Inner Mongolia. The school is also one of the 32 national cultural quality education bases for college students approved by the Ministry of Education.

There are nearly 500 professors, associate professors and other senior professional and technical personnel in the school, and more than 50% of young and middle-aged teachers have obtained doctoral and master's degrees; More than 50 people were awarded the title of young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions at the national and autonomous regions or enjoyed special government allowances; 83 people are directors, secretaries-general and directors of professional societies and associations above the provincial level. The school 1997 is connected to China Education and Research Computer Network (CERNET); Hohhot Center of National Foreign Language Proficiency Test and Inner Mongolia Center of National Computer Rank Test are also located in our school. With an area of 1000 square meter, the library is one of the collection and lending centers of scientific and technological documents in the autonomous region, and it is also the first first first-class academic journal retrieval station in China to provide thematic consulting services. The school publishes Journal of Inner Mongolia University of Technology (its natural science edition was selected into China Science and Technology Core Journal in March 2004), Research on Higher Education and Journal of Inner Mongolia University of Technology.
