Zhejiang University: Zhejiang University for short, located in Hangzhou, a paradise on earth. Qiushi Academy, formerly known as 1897, is one of the earliest new institutions of higher learning founded by China people themselves. 1928 was renamed as National Zhejiang University. During the Republic of China, under the leadership of Zhu Kezhen, Zhejiang University rose to be one of the highest institutions of higher learning in the Republic of China, and was praised as the Oriental Cambridge by Needham, a British historian of science, and ushered in the most glorious period in Zhejiang University's 100-year history.
