Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts was founded in 1949. Its predecessor was the Second Branch of Northwest People's Academy of Fine Arts. 1July, 949, moved from Linfen, Shanxi Province to Anxingguo Temple in xi, and was renamed the Art College of Northwest Military and Political University. After the Northwest Art Institute, Northwest Art Institute and other stages, it was officially named Xi 'an Art Institute in May of 1960, and the whole college was 1994.
As of March 20 17, the school has three first-class doctoral programs, eight master's degree authorization programs, and 1 postdoctoral research mobile station. It is one of the three major fine arts colleges with doctoral degree authorization points in China. In 20 17, according to the discipline evaluation of the Ministry of Education, the three first-class disciplines of fine arts, design and art theory in our school got A, B+ and B respectively, ranking third among the national fine arts colleges.
