The difference between first-class universities and first-class disciplines
Different scope, double first-class universities must be first-class discipline universities; A first-class university is not necessarily a double-class university. World-class universities 137, including 42 first-class universities and 95 first-class universities. There are only 42 first-class universities, 36 A-class universities and 6 B-class universities.

First, the difference between a first-class university and a first-class discipline university is that the level and specifications are different. At the level, first-class universities are higher than first-class discipline universities; In quantity, there are more first-class universities than first-class universities. There are 42 first-class universities, including all the original 985 universities, but they are divided into two categories: A and B, of which 36 are Class A, 6 are Class B, and 95 are first-class disciplines, including all 2 1 1 universities except the original 985. Twenty-four universities with outstanding academic advantages were selected.

Second, the creative goals are different. First-class universities are no longer world-class universities, and there is still a gap between them. The goal and task is to create a world-class university. First-class universities are not the existing dominant disciplines. They have reached the level of world-class disciplines, and their goal and task is to create world-class disciplines. After five years of establishment, whether the goal has been achieved has to pass the national evaluation.

Third, the comprehensive strength is different. The comprehensive strength of first-class universities is obviously higher than that of first-class universities, and there are many first-class disciplines or dominant disciplines and characteristic disciplines. Of course, this is not absolute. There are many first-class disciplines, dominant disciplines and characteristic disciplines in individual first-class universities, but the gap in comprehensive strength is still obvious.

Fourth, the admission scores are different. The admission scores of colleges and universities correspond to their own level, and the higher the level, the higher the admission scores. Therefore, the admission scores of first-class universities are significantly higher than those of first-class universities. However, it is not absolute. The admission scores of a few top universities will be higher than those of top universities. The admission scores of first-class universities such as Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China University of Political Science and Law and China Communication University are generally higher than those of Northwest A&F University, China Ocean University, Hunan University, Zhengzhou University, Xinjiang University and Yunnan University. This is mainly related to the specialty and the location advantage of the university.
