Guangdong University of Technology was formed by the merger of Guangdong Institute of Technology, Guangdong Institute of Mechanical Engineering and South China Institute of Architecture (East Campus) in June 1995. Guangdong University of Technology, with a history of nearly 60 years, is a provincial key university with a combination of engineering, management, law and art and a coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It is a key construction university of high-level universities in Guangdong Province.

The school is located in Guangzhou, a famous city in the south of China. The campus covers a total area of 3,348 mu, with several campuses such as University Town, Dongfeng Road and Longdong. The university town campus highlights the characteristics of engineering, promotes the coordinated development of multiple disciplines, and creates multiple collaborative innovation research platforms. Dongfeng Road Campus highlights the creation of artistic creativity and social work service atmosphere, and builds a design creative park and achievement exhibition hall. Longdong Campus emphasizes the creation of management and neo-Confucianism atmosphere, and creates a garden-style campus with beautiful environment.

At present, the school * * has 19 colleges, 4 public teaching departments (centers), 5 post-doctoral research stations, 5 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 27 two disciplines doctoral degree authorization points, 20 first-level discipline master degree authorization points, 88 two disciplines master degree authorization points (including MBA) and 3 provincial key disciplines. Two disciplines, five key disciplines with provincial characteristics, have five master's degree conferring rights, namely, master of engineering (17 field), master of business administration, master of engineering management, master of accounting and master of translation. At the same time, people with the same academic qualifications have the right to apply for master's degrees. The school has 84 undergraduate majors. Since 20 14, all undergraduate majors have been admitted to the first batch of undergraduate enrollment in Guangdong ordinary colleges and universities. The four disciplines of machinery, information, materials and chemical engineering are the key construction disciplines in the third phase of "2 1 1 engineering" in Guangdong Province. Since 20 12, the engineering discipline has been ranked in the top of ESI world 1%. 2065438+July 2007, materials science entered the top of ESI world ranking 1%.
