Beijing Sport University is the first batch of national key institutions identified by the State Council after the founding of New China. It is a national "2 1 1 project" key construction institution and has entered the "academic innovation and intelligence introduction program" of sports colleges and universities. The school was founded in 1952, and the opening ceremony was held in 1953. Formerly known as Central Institute of Physical Education, 1956 was renamed Beijing Institute of Physical Education, and 1993 was renamed Beijing Sport University. The school is located in Information Road, Haidian District, with an area of about 1.400 mu and a building area of about 600,000 square meters.
