Beijing Sport University is the first batch of national key institutions identified by the State Council after the founding of New China. It is a national "2 1 1 project" key construction institution and has entered the "academic innovation and intelligence introduction program" of sports colleges and universities. The school was founded in 1952, and the opening ceremony was held in 1953.
