North China Electric Power University (Baoding) is a national "double first-class" world-class discipline construction university directly under the Ministry of Education. The national "2 1 1 project", "1/plan", "characteristic 985 project" and the first batch of "excellent engineer education and training plan" focus on the construction of colleges and universities. It is a national key university founded by the board of directors of seven super-large power enterprise groups, including the Ministry of Education and State Grid Corporation, and is known as "Power Huangpu".
The school was founded in 1958, formerly known as Beijing Electric Power University. 1969 moved from Beijing to Hebei and changed its name to Hebei Electric Power Institute and North China Electric Power Institute. 1995 merged with Beijing Institute of Electric Power Economics to form North China Electric Power University.
