The predecessor of Sichuan Agricultural University is Sichuan Tongsheng Agricultural School, which was founded in 1906. It was merged into Sichuan University twice in 1927 and 1935. 1956, the Agricultural College of Sichuan University moved to Ya 'an, the former capital of Xikang Province, and established Sichuan Agricultural College. 1985, it was renamed Sichuan Agricultural University.

By March of 20021year, the school had three campuses, namely Ya 'an, Chengdu and Dujiangyan, with a total area of about 4,500 mu and a collection of books11658,900 volumes (pieces). There are more than 3,600 faculty members, including 426 professors and 574 associate professors.

Teaching philosophy:

The school carries out the innovative training mode of "pre-school inspirational special training": the special training is divided into three stages: learning method guidance, quality development training and regular military training in summer.
