Southwest Jiaotong University School of Art and Communication was established in June, 2004 16. Its predecessor was the Fine Arts Department, Chinese Department and Music Department of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Southwest Jiaotong University. Since its establishment, the College has vigorously promoted the construction and development of humanities and arts disciplines in our school, strengthened the cross-infiltration of arts and culture disciplines and science and engineering disciplines, and gradually formed a benign development space with creative vitality and an influential humanities and arts discipline group at home and abroad through the interaction between humanities and science and technology disciplines.

201May July 17, the School of Arts and Communication was abolished during the optimization and adjustment of some liberal arts disciplines and colleges in Southwest Jiaotong University. The Chinese Department, the Communication Department, the Music Department and the newly transferred disciplines of philosophy and history constitute the Humanities College of Southwest Jiaotong University. The Department of Fine Arts, the Department of Art Design and the Department of Industrial Design were transferred to the School of Architecture to participate in the establishment of the School of Architectural Design of Southwest Jiaotong University.

2. Art College of Sichuan University

Sichuan University Art College is the earliest college established after the merger of 1994. After experiencing the organizational forms of Culture and Art College, Art College (1996) and Philosophy and Art College (1998), it resumed in June 2006. Sichuan University has a long history of art education. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, the school set up art majors such as fine arts and music, enrolled four-year undergraduate students, and trained and transported a number of art professionals for the society. Sichuan University Art College is one of the art colleges with relatively complete professional settings in national comprehensive universities.

The college has three first-class doctoral programs in art theory, art and design, and two MFA programs, as well as first-class master programs and professional directions covering the main categories of art. Fine arts, visual communication design and dance performance have been selected as national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites of Chinese painting, and calligraphy has been selected as provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction sites.

3. Sichuan Conservatory of Music Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts

Sichuan Conservatory of Music (SCCM) has a history of 80 years. It is a multi-disciplinary and multi-level comprehensive art college integrating music and dance, art theory, drama, film and television, and art design. It is one of the 365 and 438+0 independent art colleges in China, the first batch of MFA education pilot units in China, and the national cultural quality education base for college students. The school has two campuses, covering an area of 1200 mu, 30 teaching departments and 18 research centers.

Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts (hereinafter referred to as CDAFA) is a professional fine arts college of Sichuan University of Fine Arts founded by Sichuan Conservatory of Music in 2000. The Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government plan to build Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts into an independent academy, which will be basically completed in one year, enroll students independently in three years, become a brand in early May, and strive to be first-class in ten years.
