The president of Three Gorges University in 2002 was Liu Defu. The Three Gorges University was formed in 2000 by the merger of Gezhouba Hydropower Engineering College, Yichang Teachers College, Yichang Medical College and Yichang Vocational College. Liu Defu Institute served as the president of China Three Gorges University in 2002, and served from 200/kloc-0 to 2007, which laid the foundation for the future development of China Three Gorges University.
