1. Introduction

Xiamen University, located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in China. Before 1949, it was formerly called Taoda. This university is one of many comprehensive universities directly under the Ministry of Education of China. 1995 was included in the list of "2 1 1" national key construction projects; In 2000, it became one of the high-level universities under the national key construction of China 985 Project.

19 19, Chen Jiageng, a well-known overseas Chinese leader, donated millions of yuan to establish and donate Xiamen University, which was formally established in 192 1. It is considered as one of the most prestigious and outstanding universities in China.

Due to lack of funds, Mr. Tan handed over Xiamen University to the government on 1937, which later became a national university.

1938, the second sino-Japanese war broke out, and the university was temporarily moved to Changting, Minxi county.

1946 After World War II, Xiamen University moved back to Xiamen and resumed normal operation.

1952 Xiamen university has become a comprehensive university and has been designated as a national key university since 1962. Then it will become a comprehensive university in 1952. 1963 was designated as a national key university. 1995 was included in the national key construction "2 1 1 project" list; In 2000, it became one of the high-level universities in China's "985" Project.
