Since the establishment of Tsinghua University Advanced Research Center, gratifying progress has been made in talent introduction, scientific research and teaching, and academic exchanges. In order to invite and receive outstanding scholars from all over the world to work in our institute for a long time, carry out high-level international academic exchanges and cooperative research, and promote the advanced research center to develop into a world-class academic research center, through the active efforts of Professor Yang Zhenning and Professor Nie Huatong, we have obtained the donation support of Mr. and Mrs. James H.Simons, president of Fuxing Science and Technology Company, a world-famous financial investor, and the support of relevant state departments.
At the end of 2004, as a senior expert apartment, Chen Saimeng Building started construction in Shengyinyuan Community. At present, the three buildings A, B and D can provide well-equipped apartments and supporting auxiliary rooms.
In memory of the China mathematician Chen Shengshen, the mentor of the donor, and the Chen Siming Mathematical Manifold, which was widely used in the scientific community, the expert apartment was named Chen Si Mingtang.
