Overview of Southwest Petroleum University
Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU), located in the southwest petrochemical base of chenghua district, Chengdu, Sichuan, China, was founded in 1958. It is an undergraduate college jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Sichuan Province and China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
School history
1958 was founded in Huili county, Liangshan prefecture, with the initial name of "Southwest Petroleum Institute". 1970 moved to Chongqing, and 1989 moved to Chengdu. After years of development, the school has formed a specialized subject framework focusing on engineering, science, management, literature, law, economics, teaching and art, covering eight academic fields.
