Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, located in Shenyang, is a university jointly established by China Sinochem Group Corporation and Liaoning Provincial People's Government. It is a "double-first-class" key construction university in Liaoning Province and also a key construction university in the national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities".

It has been selected into the national "1 1 1 plan", the national model university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, the education and training plan for outstanding engineers of the Ministry of Education, the construction unit of colleges and universities with characteristics of the Ministry of Education, the training plan for innovative and entrepreneurial talents of national college students, the new engineering research and practice project, and the first batch of pilot schools of emergency management college, and it is a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.

Scientific research achievements:

In August 2020, the official website of the school showed that the school undertook hundreds of national scientific research projects, such as national key scientific and technological projects, "863" projects, "973" projects, major scientific and technological projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and key projects of the National Social Science Fund, and thousands of provincial and ministerial scientific research projects of enterprises.

The school has won more than 17 first prize of national science and technology progress award, national invention award, national defense science and technology award and provincial and ministerial science and technology progress award, nearly 100 other provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, and more than 1 100 authorized patent achievements.
