There are two 985 universities in Guangdong: Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology. Four 2 1 1 universities: Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Jinan University and South China Normal University.

1, Sun Yat-sen University is a modern comprehensive university located in Guangdong Province, China. In 2005 and 2006, they were selected as "21Project" and "985 Project" respectively, and in 20 17 and 2022, they were selected as "double first-class A" construction universities.

2. South China University of Technology, referred to as "South China University of Technology", located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China (PRC), is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education.

3. Jinan University, referred to as "Jida" for short, is the first overseas Chinese institution of higher learning founded by the state in China, a national "world-class discipline construction university" and a national "21Project" and "985 Platform" key construction university.

4. South China Normal University, referred to as "South China Normal University", is a university jointly founded by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education. It is the first batch of national "world-class discipline construction universities" and national "2 1 1 project" key construction universities.
