Nanjing University Gulou Campus is located in downtown Nanjing, located in Gulou District, adjacent to Gulou Square in downtown Nanjing. Hankou road passes through the middle of Gulou Campus, and the dormitory area and the teaching area face each other across the road. Gulou Campus of Nanjing University is one of the three campuses of Nanjing University and the former site of Jinling University, a national key cultural relic protection unit. Nanjing University has a long history, and the earliest school can be traced back to imperial academy, which was founded by Sun Quan of the Soochow regime in the Three Kingdoms period. Modern times is the running course of Liangjiang Academy and Jinling University, and it is one of the famous and powerful key universities in China.
Nanjing University Gulou Campus is the former site of Jinling University, so some buildings of Jinling University, such as "Jinling University Hall" and "May 20th Memorial Pavilion", are still clearly visible. Green plants are very rich and lush, and buildings are hidden in lush forests and flowers. Many buildings here are well preserved, providing many places to watch and rest. It is more like a park than a campus.
When you come to Nantah, you must see the Peking University Building which combines Chinese and Western culture. This "Peking University" is not "Peking University", but because it faces south, it is called Peking University Building. It is the bell tower of Jinling University. It has a history of one hundred years. The building is a brick wall in the Ming Dynasty, and the Parthenocissus tricuspidata hovering above it is green in spring and summer and yellow in autumn and winter, like Nantah's eternal academic responsibility and spiritual temperament. If you take a photo here, it will be included in a photo frame and ivy covered with green walls. Seen from a distance, Peking University Building and Jiangsu Radio Station Building are spectacular.
The auditorium near Peking University Building used to be the chapel of Jinling University. The building is modeled after the ancient temples in China, with brick and wood structure and two floors above ground. The main span of the roof is an inclined peak and the attached span is a hard peak. The outer wall is made of bricks of the Ming Dynasty city wall, and the imprint of the inscription on the brick is still discernible. The whole auditorium is simple and elegant, in contrast to the height of Peking University Building, dignified and solemn, but it makes people feel warm and beautiful.
If there is an auditorium, there will naturally be a small auditorium. If the auditorium is compared to a dignified woman, then the small auditorium is a playful little girl. The roof is a rest peak, a single-story building, arched doors, exquisite and delicate, quite tasteful of Jiangnan architecture.
There are many buildings in the Gulou campus of Nanda during the Republic of China, even older buildings, telling the past and the stories of yesterday and today. It is commensurate with the strong cultural and historical atmosphere of Nanjing. Although the campus is not very big, it is better to stroll around the campus slowly by bike and relive the beauty of the student days.
