Introduction: Tianjin Maritime College was founded in 1962. Its predecessor was Tianjin Institute of Science and Technology, also known as Tianjin Staff University of Science and Technology. In 2006, with the approval of Tianjin Municipal People's Government, Tianjin Maritime College was reorganized by the Ministry of Education. It is a comprehensive public full-time higher vocational college with disciplines such as engineering, economics and management.
It is one of the institutions that China Maritime Safety Administration applied to the International Maritime Organization for crew training, one of the first institutions that Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration carried out crew competency training in North China, and one of the first education and training units in North China that passed the certification of "Crew Education and Training Quality System" issued by the National Maritime Safety Administration.
College facilities: the college has all kinds of practical experimental equipment required by various majors, and the teaching environment and practical conditions are superior. At present, 80 on-campus training bases and 94 off-campus training bases covering 24 majors and professional directions have been built. Among them, there are many national key training bases, such as ship handling simulation training room, engine simulator training room, container transportation management professional training room, and 6000 mu of off-campus water training base. Navigation education and crew training are at the leading level in northern China.
