Mainly engaged in the study of Ming and Qing history and historical philology. He has published nearly 100 academic papers in China Historical Studies, Historical Studies, Historical Monthly, Historical Anthology, Journal of Tsinghua University and Guangming Daily. In 2008, he received a doctorate in history from Nankai University. From 20 13 to 20 15, he served as the vice president of the school of history and culture of Henan university, 20 16 as the deputy director of the social science department of Henan university, and 20 19 as the dean of the institute of humanities and social sciences of Henan university. He used to be a director of China Ming History Society, deputy secretary-general of Henan History Society and secretary-general of Kaifeng History Society.
