At present, there are four major disciplines: science, engineering, agriculture and medicine. Each discipline category contains several disciplines, which are divided as follows:
Science: Mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, geology, geography, geophysics, atmospheric science, marine science, mechanics, electronic information science, materials science, environmental science, psychology, statistics.
Engineering: Geology and mineral resources, materials, machinery, instrumentation, energy and power, electrical information, civil engineering, surveying and mapping, environment and safety, chemical industry and pharmacy, transportation, marine engineering, textile and food, aerospace, weapons, engineering mechanics, bioengineering, agricultural engineering, forestry engineering and public security technology.
Agronomy: Plant production, grassland science, forest resources, environmental ecology, animal production, animal medicine, aquatic products.
Medicine: basic medicine, preventive medicine, clinical medicine and medical technology, stomatology, traditional Chinese medicine, forensic medicine, nursing, pharmacy.
