Ewha Women's University is one of the oldest universities in Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 1886, it is one of the AACSB accredited universities in Asia. Ewha Women's University, formerly known as Ewha School, was named by Emperor Gaozong and Empress Mingcheng of North Korea to commemorate the wife of scranton, a Methodist doctor who was the first to carry out women's education in North Korea at that time. 1948 was renamed Ewha Women's University.

The school emblem of pear flower is made of pure silver. The overall shape is a pear flower with five petals. There are two circles in the pear flower. There is a cross symbol above the middle of these two circles and an Artest symbol below. The upper part and the lower part respectively surround Ewha Women's University and EWHA W.U from left to right, with the school year of 1886 and the school year of 1945 in the middle. There is the south gate of National Treasure No.1 in the small circle, and the words "truth, goodness and beauty" in the lower part are arranged in a triangle.
The overall shape of the school emblem is pear flower, which is not only the name of the school, but also a symbol of the virtue and purity of students with both ability and political integrity and elegant temperament. Tai Chi, representing the foundation of all creation, is a symbol of oriental philosophy, and is the pattern of the Korean flag Tai Chi flag. The south gate represents the Korean nation, and "truth, goodness and beauty" symbolizes the spirit of pear blossom, that is, the ultimate goal of pear blossom education: to accumulate wisdom and knowledge, to carry forward the goodness of human society, and to cultivate artistic sentiment in pursuit of beauty.
