Shanxi Provincial Cardiovascular Hospital (Shanxi Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases) was established in 1980, and is affiliated to Shanxi Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission. It is a three-level first-class specialized hospital integrating medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, prevention, health care, rehabilitation and community service. It is a teaching hospital of Shanxi Medical University (cardiovascular hospital affiliated to Shanxi Medical University) and a model hospital for the whole country.
