Professor Zhuang Hui of peking university health science center and Professor He Xingui, Dean of School of Information, were elected as academicians of China Academy of Engineering from 20065438+0 to 2005. Xu Qian, an alumnus of Peking University, was elected as a member of the National Academy of Sciences in 2005. He is only eight scientists in the United States who hold three titles: Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering and Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences.
Tian Gang, a professor at Peking University College of Mathematical Sciences and Simons Chair Professor at the Department of Mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was elected as an academician of American College of Arts and Sciences in 2004. He was also elected by two other scholars from China. This is also the first time that mainland students studying in the United States have won this honor since the reform and opening up.
