First, there are differences in the way of enlistment.
College students can only choose the road of conscripts joining the army for a period of two years. Conscripts are divided into private soldiers (first year) and first-class soldiers (second year). During their service, they have no salary, only an allowance, which is about 1000 yuan per month, and it will be higher in remote areas. Are there any conscripts on home leave? After two years, most of them retired and went back to school to continue their studies.
Compared with college students, college graduates can choose the way of joining the army: either "conscript" or "directly recruiting non-commissioned officers". The treatment enjoyed by non-commissioned officers directly recruited in the army is obviously different from that enjoyed by conscripts. After four months of training, he will be awarded the rank of corporal, and then he can be paid a corporal salary every month, about 5000-7000 yuan.
Second, there is a difference between taking an examination of military schools.
Military school enrollment is not only for high school graduates, but also for active servicemen. College students join the army and enter military schools in the army, which is equivalent to the level of high school graduates. The examination content is high school knowledge, and the examination subjects are Chinese, mathematics, English and comprehensive (physics, chemistry and biology).
There are two main ways for college graduates to take military schools: one is for college graduates to take military schools, and the other is for undergraduate graduates to take jobs.
Soldiers who graduated from universities take the military school exam, which is equivalent to the college entrance examination, so the content of the exam is university knowledge. The examination subjects are: college Chinese, comprehensive scientific knowledge, comprehensive military and political foundation and college English. The examination time is the same as that of military college students and soldiers, and it is synchronized with the college entrance examination, from June 7 to 8 every year.
Third, there are differences in ranks and service years after transferring to non-commissioned officers.
In the army, conscripts can apply to be transferred to non-commissioned officers after the expiration of their service, but after being transferred to non-commissioned officers, there are obvious differences between college students and college graduates in rank and service age.
Because college students can only join the army in the form of conscripts, if they become non-commissioned officers two years later, no matter which year you join the army, the highest education is only high school, so it is only the rank of corporal. In addition, when serving as a non-commissioned officer in the army, the soldiers are just over 12, which meets the government resettlement conditions and can choose to change jobs when they retire.
However, after serving for two years, college graduates' conscripts are transferred to non-commissioned officers, directly promoted to the rank of non-commissioned officers, and enjoy the salary of non-commissioned officers. The monthly salary is about 7000~9000 yuan. If you serve in the army as a non-commissioned officer, the actual service life is less than 12 years, which does not meet the government resettlement conditions. You still need to serve to the fourth sergeant major to meet the placement conditions.
4. There are differences in development.
Most college students who enlist in the army will go back to school to continue their studies after serving for two years. Because, if he stays in the army directly, it means that he gave up his status as a student in the university he was admitted to. Their highest education is only high school. If you continue to serve, you need to return to campus after you leave the army. By then, the academic pressure will become even greater.
Without such worries, college graduates will be more suitable to stay in the team for long-term development than college students. In the two major development directions of the army, one is to enter the military academy and the other is to become a non-commissioned officer.
College graduates already have an academic advantage. They only need to pass the physical fitness test and master the relevant professional skills. Becoming a petty officer is relatively easy. Want to be admitted to the military academy, need to have made outstanding contributions in the team, or served as a cadre, party member identity, rooted in remote areas. For such soldiers, the organization will give priority to the selection and admission.
