Chongqing College of Humanities and Science originated from Xingzhi Yucai College of Southwest Normal University founded in 2000, and has been renamed several times. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 20 13, it was transformed into an ordinary undergraduate college under the supervision of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. The school is a national strategic pilot applied technology research university and a pilot unit for postgraduate education and master's degree training in Chongqing. The school is located in Caojie Street, Hechuan District, Chongqing, where Tao Xingzhi, a great people's educator during the Anti-Japanese War, once ran a school. Covering an area of 1 292,500 square meters, with a total construction area of 542 1 000 square meters. It enrolls students from 22 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) and currently has nearly 23,000 full-time students.
