Sichuan University for Nationalities is a provincial full-time undergraduate college located in kangding city, the hometown of love songs. The school has been selected into the Gongga plan for the construction of colleges and universities in Sichuan Province, the education and training plan for outstanding legal talents in Sichuan Province, and the education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents in Sichuan Province. It is a national undergraduate college with a provincial garden-like campus with Kangba as the center.
The school was founded in 1985, and 1992 was renamed Kangding Teachers College for Nationalities. In 2004, Ganzi Agricultural School merged with Ganzi Finance and Economics School, and was upgraded to Sichuan University for Nationalities with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2009.
As of March 2023, the school has 15 secondary colleges, 33 undergraduate majors, 14 second bachelor's degree majors, 19 specialist majors and ethnic preparatory education, covering 10 disciplines.
The school has 10000 full-time students. The school has Kangding Campus and Luding Campus, with a campus area of 689 mu, a school building area of 278,000 square meters, total fixed assets of 637 million yuan, total teaching and research instruments and equipment of 654.38 billion yuan, and a collection of a million copies paper books and more than 430,000 electronic books.

By March, 2023, school students have achieved good results in computer, English proficiency test, mathematical modeling competition, art festival and sports meeting organized by the whole province, and won the first prize in provincial competitions for many times.
College students have participated in the performances of Sichuan Computer Education Annual Meeting and Sichuan University Sports Annual Meeting, and achieved excellent results in Sichuan University Art Festival. The college holds several exhibitions of various types of calligraphy and painting every semester.
Students' classroom assignments have been compiled into the China Academy of Art Yearbook of Students' Works edited by Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts for many times, and have successively undertaken and completed the design and drawing of interior decoration paintings in large hotels such as Glacier Hotel. The school offers courses such as career planning and college students' career planning, and is equipped with full-time employment guidance personnel to provide guidance and services for students' employment.
