At the beginning of the 20th century, scientific sex education rose in China, but it developed slowly. It was not until the mid-1980s that sex education entered the classroom in the form of elective courses and lectures in individual colleges and universities. It was not until the 1990s that (some) colleges and universities offered elective courses in sex education. The author thinks that sex education is a science with rich connotation and profound extension, which begins in children and ends in old age. It needs family, school and society to complete. Sexual physiology, psychology, morality and safety education on campus is a part of science education, namely sexual health education.
At present, it has been widely recognized that sexual health education must be given to college students. However, there are various problems and controversies in practice, the focus of which is the form and content of sexual health education for college students. Many researchers simply understand sexual health education as sexual physical health education, that is, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and physical health, and some even simply oppose sexual health education and sexual moral education. The author believes that this is actually caused by the vague understanding of the concept and connotation of sexual health education.
1 Concept and connotation of sexual health education
To understand the concept and connotation of sexual health education, we must distinguish and sort out related concepts, such as sex science, sex education and sex health.
Sexology is a comprehensive subject with sex, sexual desire, sexual behavior and sexual culture as the research objects, covering several scientific categories such as natural science, social science and humanities. It is a complex, comprehensive and comprehensive theoretical system based on the four pillars of sex biology, sex medicine, sex psychology and sex sociology.
"Academically speaking, understanding the sexual psychology of the opposite sex is no different from learning physical and chemical knowledge. They all have some common characteristics: first, it should be mentioned in advance that engineers were not appointed to start learning long ago; Second, instill that no student can be exempted from studying mathematics because he is not an engineer in the future; ..... This is the law of all education. Of course, sex education is no exception. How can understanding the sexual psychology of the opposite sex be an exception? " [5]
The author thinks that people who hold this wrong view underestimate the self-study ability of college students. College students are a group with a strong thirst for knowledge. As their bodies mature, their thinking becomes active. Instinctive sexual needs and the influx of a large number of mixed information make them consciously or unconsciously look for sexual information, so it is inevitable that they will be induced by bad information and make some behaviors that we think are out of line. The survey shows that the vast majority of college students do not deliberately try sexual intercourse after receiving scientific and comprehensive sex education. The view that understanding and mastering sexual knowledge will lead college students to resist sexual impulses and gain sexual experience through practice has no objective basis and is a subjective fear theory [6]. The author's investigation before and after the sexual health education class in our hospital also illustrates this view. For example, in answering "Can you control yourself when the sexual impulse between you and your lover is aroused?" The answer that I think I can control is 78.9% before class and 84.8% after class, an increase of 5 percentage points; When answering "When you control your sexual impulse in front of your lover", 40.7% chose "It doesn't meet your own moral standards" before class and 52% after class, which increased by nearly 10 percentage point.
It is precisely because of misunderstanding that some colleges and universities, especially many local colleges and universities, still have no sexual health education for college students, which will inevitably affect the promotion of sexual health education for college students. Even if it is promoted, it will be neglected because of the lack of some effectiveness of sex education. Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate this concept in order to successfully carry out and promote sexual health education for college students.
2.2 Sexual health education for college students will inevitably reduce premarital sexual behavior.
At present, this concept still has a certain market. Due to the influence of traditional culture in China, the pace of sexual health education is extremely difficult. Opposition or support will give you unrealistic hopes. This view is a true portrayal of this attitude.
At present, college students' premarital sex is a headache for ideological and political educators in colleges and universities. It seems that they can only let it go. They fantasize that one education can reduce the incidence of premarital sex, and it seems that sexual health education for college students is a complete solution. But this will disappoint some people, because "setting up sex education for college students has not reduced the incidence of premarital sex among college students." ......
I saw it somewhere else.
