Zhou Youguang, formerly known as Zhou Yaoping, was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu, and a famous linguist in China. In his early years, he studied economics, transferred to Beijing from 65438 to 0955, and joined the China Character Reform Committee, specializing in language and writing research. Zhou Youguang's language research center is China's language modernization, and he made a comprehensive and scientific exposition on the theory and practice of China's language modernization. Known as "the father of Chinese Pinyin".
Zhou Youguang is the main maker of "Chinese Pinyin Scheme" and presided over the formulation of "Basic Rules of Chinese Pinyin Orthography". Zhou Youguang has published more than 30 monographs and 300 papers in the field of linguistics and culturology, which has exerted a wide influence at home and abroad.

Zhou Youguang studied in Changzhou Senior High School. The school encourages students to speak Mandarin and write vernacular, but teachers teach in dialects. Even the articles made him write classical Chinese, which puzzled him and gave him the idea of learning Chinese. 1923 was admitted to Shanghai St. John's University with excellent results.
When he found that the students only spoke English, he asked himself, "Why are there only English typewriters and why are there no Chinese Pinyin?"? China, a country with 9.6 million square kilometers and the largest population, is unworthy. I blurted out,' Who else is Wen Gai!' He found a new mission in life, so he chose linguistics while majoring in economics.
After graduating from college, I traveled to Japan and came back. War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out in an all-round way, but he was full of blood but helpless with his wife and children. 1945 After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he was introduced by a friend and worked in Xinhua Bank. By chance, he was sent to work on Wall Street in new york. While doing his job well, he never stopped studying linguistics, and he couldn't spare any time in his spare time.
1949 when new China was founded, he gave up his high salary and returned to the motherland without hesitation. Although he works in a bank, he never forgets his mission. Working in a bank to make a living, language learning is a hobby and a lifelong dream of him. He dare not slack off and pursue diligently.
1955 held a national conference on writing reform, and China's reform was finally put on the agenda by the state. He is over half a year old and welcomes the invitation of the Prime Minister to call in person. Tears of joy, God will never let you down. After the meeting, he was entrusted with an important task as the director of the China Language Reform Committee.
