College Development of School of Journalism and Communication, Peking University
In 1980s, Peking University successively offered courses in journalism, international communication, cross-cultural communication, advertising, editing and publishing, information management and other disciplines in different departments, and gradually formed a team of teachers engaged in journalism and communication teaching and research, with the same characteristics of young and strong professional skills. Most of them have the background of foreign study and research, novel knowledge structure, strong absorption ability, good academic vision and professional skills. Journalism and communication are interdisciplinary subjects. Peking University has a complete range of arts and sciences, a broad and solid foundation in humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, and a good academic atmosphere. It has a national first-class and unique comprehensive discipline environment, which provides rich academic resources and technical support for cultivating news communication talents in the information age. However, Peking University's academic status at home and abroad and frequent international exchanges have created very favorable conditions for its journalism and communication education to go global. On May 28th, 20001year, relying on the increasingly strengthened discipline foundation of journalism and communication, Peking University integrated the resources of the whole school, resumed the establishment of the School of Journalism and Communication, inherited the glorious tradition, and made it brilliant today.

By May of 20 10, there were 32 faculty members, including professors 15, associate professors 12 and lecturers. There are 745 full-time students, including 89 doctoral students (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), 246 master students (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, single-enrollment classes), 465,438 undergraduates, and 94 international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. In addition, there are nearly 1000 graduate students and undergraduates. After 10 years of development, the School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University has become an important base for journalism and communication research in China.

On May 28th, 20001,Peking University resumed the establishment of the School of Journalism and Communication. Relying on the increasingly strengthened foundation of journalism and communication, and integrating the resources of the whole school, the School of Journalism and Communication has gradually formed a research and teaching mode of journalism and communication with the characteristics of Peking University and adapted to the development of the times, and formed a series of discipline groups including journalism, communication, advertising, editing and publishing, online communication, radio, film and television, cross-cultural communication, public relations, media management and so on. After ten years of development, the School of Journalism and Communication has made great progress in discipline construction, personnel training and academic research.

At present, China Journalism History Society is affiliated to School of Journalism and Communication, Peking University.
