As the only high-level university with distinctive features named after mining in China, the school has formed a discipline system and a multi-disciplinary school-running pattern with engineering as the main feature and coordinated development of science and technology, culture, management, teaching and art.

There are 2 national "double first-class" construction disciplines, one first-class discipline 1 discipline, eight national key disciplines in two disciplines, and one national key (cultivation) discipline 1 discipline.
