Northeast Petroleum University (referred to as Northeast Petroleum University for short) is located in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, and is a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.

It is a petroleum institute co-founded by China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group, China Petrochemical Group, China Offshore Oil Corporation and Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government.

Qiqihar University, referred to as Daqi for short, is the only provincial comprehensive university in the west of Heilongjiang Province. As one of the three comprehensive universities in Heilongjiang Province, it is a high-level university in Heilongjiang Province and the first-phase key construction university in a strong province of higher education in Heilongjiang Province.

Qiqihar University was founded in 1952. 1996, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the former Qiqihar Institute of Light Industry (founded in 1952) and the former Qiqihar Teachers College (founded in 1958) merged to form Qiqihar University. Since then, Heilongjiang Business School, Heilongjiang Chemical School and Keshan Teachers College have merged.
