Wanfang Institute of Technology now generally refers to Zhengzhou Institute of Business and Technology. The school was founded in 2002, formerly known as Wanfang Institute of Technology, Henan Polytechnic University. It is an independent college established by Henan Polytechnic University according to the new model and absorbing social capital, belonging to three books.

Wanfang College of Science and Technology of Henan Polytechnic University is the first independent college in Henan Province approved by the Ministry of Education (national standard code 13507), and its running level is full-time undergraduate.

The college began enrolling students in 2002, with 23 undergraduate majors and more than 7,000 undergraduates.

After six years of construction and development, the college has become one of the famous independent colleges in Henan Province and even the whole country. In 2007, it ranked 4 1 in the comprehensive reputation ranking of independent colleges in China, and won the excellent evaluation with the first total score in the moral education evaluation of independent colleges in Henan Province. The college mainly employs excellent teachers from Henan Polytechnic University to teach.

Henan Polytechnic University has 16 colleges (departments) and 33 experimental centers (rooms), including the College of Mechanical and Power Engineering and the College of Electrical Engineering and Automation.
