Shanghai University, referred to as "Shanghai University" for short, is a comprehensive university under the "2 1 1 project" of Shanghai and the state. The Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government jointly established a university, which is a world-class discipline construction university.
It has been selected into the national "11/plan", the education and training plan for outstanding engineers, the education and training plan for outstanding journalism and communication talents, the national public graduate program for building high-level universities, the demonstration base for studying in China by the Ministry of Education, the first batch of high-level local universities in Shanghai, and the first batch of demonstration universities in Shanghai to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
1922 10, founded by Shanghai University in cooperation with the state, 1927 was forcibly closed by the Kuomintang authorities. 1983, Shanghai Municipal People's Government established Shanghai University on the basis of Fudan University Branch, Shanghai International Studies University Branch, East China Normal University Branch of Instrumentation and Electronics, Shanghai University of Science and Technology Branch, Shanghai Machinery Institute Branch of Light Industry and Shanghai Fine Arts School.
