When opening an account in a bank, write a check at the same time? There is also a savings account, which is free of management fees and has no minimum deposit? .

There is not much money, just open a checking account, but there is no interest at ordinary times. If the school is in a big international bank such as Citibank or HSBC, choose this kind of bank, which is convenient to use in both China and the United States, and let the family allocate funds online or to the family. If the school doesn't have such a big bank, you can open an account directly online. Moreover, the interest rate of Citibank's electronic savings account is above 5%, which is quite cost-effective.

If you want to apply for a credit card, you'd better bring a domestic credit card and show it when you apply for a credit card in a bank or credit card company, indicating that you need an American credit card for convenience. For example, domestic credit cards can't be paid online in the United States, because the address of domestic credit cards is Chinese, and the computer programs of online merchants in the United States don't know Chinese. If the domestic credit card is visa, Master, American Express, Bank of America or credit card company can easily approve it. Otherwise, you will have to wait a year or two before you can apply for an American credit card. Until then, you can still use your domestic credit card to shop in American stores, and just pay the bill in China.

Don't take deep professional courses in the first semester unless you are good at professional English.
