China Communication University is a "first-class discipline construction university" directly under the Ministry of Education, focusing on "2 1 1 project" and "985 dominant discipline innovation platform". The school was founded in 1954, and was renamed China Communication University by Beijing Broadcasting Institute in August 2004.

The school is located on the bank of the ancient canal in Beijing, between the functional core area of the capital and the Beijing sub-center, with convenient transportation and obvious location advantages.
