Xu Senlin's Personality Contribution
As a mathematician, Xu Senlin's research results are world-class. Mainly engaged in the research of geometric topology and computational complexity theory, and published 35 papers in important magazines at home and abroad. Six books have been published, including Mathematical Analysis, Manifold and Stokes Theorem, Manifold, Algebraic Equation and Computational Complexity Theory, Differential Topology and Differential Geometry, some of which have been translated into English. These papers and works have high theoretical level and application value. Among them, the paper Approaching Zero-sum Computational Complexity Theory published in China Science, the paper About the Cost of Finding the Roots of Polynomials and the book Algebraic Equation and Computational Complexity Theory published in the American magazine Mathemathcal Progrmming are highly praised by famous mathematicians such as Wu Wenjun, S.Smale and H.W.Kuhn. The estimate that the inequality S is less than or equal to 2/3 n in the article Rigidite of Compact Submanifolds in the Unit Sphere published in the Dutch magazine Geometriac Dedicate is the best so far. The spectral theory of Laplace operator has obtained a series of important results. Mathematical Analysis, co-authored by others, won the second prize of the textbook of the State Education Commission.

As a professor, Xu Senlin is both a bole and a gardener, and it can be said that peaches and plums are all over the world. He not only made a lot of achievements in mathematics research, but also made important contributions to the discovery and selection of mathematics and talents. From 65438 to 0976, he assessed Xiao Gang, who only went to junior high school and became a self-taught student, and strongly recommended Xiao Gang to be admitted to the graduate school of Chinese University of Science and Technology. Two years later, Xiao Gang was sent to France to study for a doctorate with excellent examination results, and published international papers and works. After returning to China, Xiao Gang was employed as a professor and doctoral supervisor of East China Normal University. Because of Xiao Gang's achievements in mathematics, he was awarded the Chen Shengshen Mathematics Award and became an outstanding young mathematician in China. Xu Senlin has a set of effective teaching methods to cultivate college students, master students and doctoral students in accordance with their aptitude. He has taught 15 important courses for college students and graduate students, including both basic mathematics courses and modern mathematics courses. Over the past 30 years, he has trained a large number of famous mathematicians, such as Sha Jiping, Shu Qiwang, Ji, Ye Rugang and Shen. In the United States, Liu Xiangwei, Mei Qiangjian and Ni Yilong, college students he trained, won the second place in the 8th National Mathematics Summer Camp Mathematics Competition, and they won the second, sixth and tenth place respectively. Jiang,, won the second place in the ninth competition and won the first place in the individual.

Xu Senlin's achievements in mathematics research and teaching have attracted the attention of mathematicians at home and abroad. 1995 was included in the Who's Who in the World of the United States, and won the TWAS Science Foundation, the National Natural Science Foundation and the Special Fund of the Academy of Sciences for many times, and enjoyed the special government allowance granted by the people of China and the State Council.
