Shanghai University is a double-class university. Shanghai University is a comprehensive university affiliated to Shanghai and under the national "2 1 1 Project". It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the first batch of high-level local universities in Shanghai, and a national first-class discipline construction university.

Shanghai University graduates are favored by employers because of their wide knowledge, high comprehensive quality, strong innovation ability and sufficient development potential. In 2009, the school was rated as the first batch of 50 "National College Students' Typical Experience in Employment" by the Ministry of Education, and in 20 16, it was rated as the first batch of 50 "National College Students' Typical Experience in Innovation and Entrepreneurship" by the Ministry of Education.

The school has four national key disciplines and four Shanghai third-class peak disciplines, and has led the construction of 1 Shanghai fourth-class peak disciplines,1Shanghai first-class plateau disciplines and six Shanghai second-class plateau disciplines, and 10 disciplines have entered the top of ESI world 1%. It has 1 national key laboratories established by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
