The rankings of Tsinghua and Peking University are still rising steadily. After ranking TOP26 last year, Tsinghua rose three places again, ranking 23rd, and Peking University rose from 45th to 39th, entering TOP40.
Only four universities in Chinese mainland entered 100, namely 23 in Tsinghua University, 39 in Peking University, 89 in Shanghai Jiaotong University and 93 in Zhejiang University. There are also four universities in mainland China and Hong Kong, which are equivalent to the mainland, namely the Chinese University of Hong Kong 53, the University of Hong Kong 55, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology 95 and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University 100.
