Hardware: CPU with strong floating-point computing ability (preferably Athlon XP or Pentium 4 or above); Good work
Sound card (low CPU usage is preferred, such as innovative Live! And Audigy series); Good uplink bandwidth (at least ISDN can carry 2 ~ 3 listeners); A microphone (past the addiction of being a DJ). Of course, the above is only a recommended configuration, and a low point is also acceptable.
Software: Windows Media Encoder 9.0: small resource occupation, low bit rate and high sound quality, easy to learn and use, free of charge; Numerous digital audio format files: MP3, MPC, WMA, APE, WAV or CD, even VCD, DVD, etc.

Settings of encoder
Start Windows Media encoder, and the software will automatically pop up the installation wizard. Just select the default "live event". Then choose a sound card with better recording quality as the audio equipment. If there is only one airborne AC'97, choose the default one. The next choice is to choose the server that sends the broadcast, the PC that is being used now, or the dedicated Windows Media server. Of course, I can only use my computer while waiting for DIYer. Select Pull from Encoder and Transfer. The default service port of Windows Media encoder is port 8080, but it is best not to use this default setting. Click "Find Available Ports" to select a port that is not currently occupied, and select a number that is easy to remember.
Coding options are related to bandwidth and sound quality, and also to the occupation of system resources, which is very important. If the system configuration is high, you can choose multi-rate coding (CBR) and 135/70/54Kbps to adapt to more bandwidth conditions. If you don't plan to record, it is recommended not to save the broadcast to a file. So as not to occupy unnecessary hard disk space.
Note: The most important of the above settings is the selection of coding bit rate. If you are not sure what coding bit rate you should use, it is a good choice to ask netizens to help you test it.
The trumpet has started broadcasting!
Before debugging, you need to modify the system default recording options. Open the audio control panel, click "View-Audio Panel-Mixer-Recording Control-Options-Properties-Show the following volume control", check "Stereo Mixer" (the name of this option may be different on different systems due to different sound cards, mainly because the definition of the name in the driver is different), and select an option (a vague option, like the stereo mixer here) that can record all the sounds of the system.
Note: If you can't find this option, please update the sound card driver. The onboard AC'97 has this option, and most sound cards support collecting all the sounds of the system. The choice of recording equipment is very important, which is related to whether the real-time acquisition station can "make noise" If the settings are incorrect, you will not be able to establish a real-time acquisition station.
After setting the encoder, click "Start Coding", find your favorite music, and you can start playing. Pay attention to turn off the firewall (especially the one that comes with WinXP). At this time, the audio played by any player will be played through his personal radio, so you can choose the player freely and try to use the player with excellent sound quality and small system resources. Now, you can start inviting your friends to listen to your own radio station! The address is:
Mms // Your IP address, your customized port.
Tip: Click "File-Save" to save the current settings to a file and make several completely different settings. What kind of settings do you want to call next time? Just open the corresponding settings file.
Establish "source" mode radio station
Although the real-time coded radio station is flexible, it also has a lot of troubles: computer-operated system sounds, including QQ and MSN, will be played out, which will affect the playing quality. At the same time, the audience will often ask for songs, but you don't really want to listen to these songs, which is also a very depressing thing. More importantly, as long as you want to talk, the microphone can play all the sounds in the room. What is a DJ?
Fortunately, the Windows Media encoder provides a way to build a "source" radio station. You can easily order songs by yourself, and you can also operate other programs without conflict. Click "New Session-Custom Session-Source Tab-From-File-Browse" in the main interface to add multiple files, and there will be many more "sources" on the left. Select these "sources" to see that these are the files you just selected to play. Then we need to set the action after the end of this source for each source, and set it to "scroll to the next source" for continuous playback and "scroll to the first source" for overall loop playback.
Now, click "Start coding" to broadcast to the outside world. At this time, the encoder will directly encode the "source" file, which is inaudible on its own PC. Even if other players are used, the played music will not enter the broadcast.
Tip: Just click "View-Property Panel" to continue to operate the currently unplayed signal sources, including adding and deleting "signal sources".
I want to be a DJ!
At this point, you can not only add other files, but also add equipment as the sound source, that is, we can use the equipment as the next sound source after playing a song, so that we can add narration between two songs to achieve the effect of radio DJ.
Click Add-Device-Configuration-Properties-Plug-in under Source, and select the required input device from the drop-down list. If you want to achieve the effect of the host, you can choose Mic (Microphone), so you can host the radio program through the microphone; Or choose "Stereo Mixer" to play all the sounds of the system just like a real-time radio station. At this time, we can use the player to accompany us, use the microphone to sing Live Show or express our comments while playing songs.
Click OK-Apply to make the settings take effect. When you want to use this source, you can use the up and down arrows next to the "Add" button to move the selected source and put it after the source that is about to end playing (if you want to comment after a source, you can move the device "source" behind it). If you want to Live Show, you can also use plug-ins to make some changes to the human voice, such as adding echoes, which is not much to introduce.
Tip: "Source" mode is a very characteristic and complicated mode, but it can achieve more and more professional effects. At the same time, if properly set, it can also make way for radio and work.
How do intranet users set up radio stations?
Some campus network users also have independent Internet IP, but some schools can only assign one IP to each dormitory. In other words, students who enjoy the Internet have no independent IP and belong to intranet users. How can they turn on the radio?
Intranet users need their gateway servers (with independent Internet IP) to support port mapping and map their broadcast ports to gateway ports. Generally speaking, a small gateway router or a PC with dual network cards as a gateway can do port mapping. Please refer to the instruction manual of the router for the port mapping method, which is generally explained in detail; The port mapping of the gateway PC is related to the operating system. A PC using Windows2000/XP/2003 can set the port mapping in "Network Connection-* * * Enjoy-Advanced-Settings".
Some software, such as CCproxy, also has port mapping function. After setting, the broadcast address is the port mapped on the IP gateway of mms // gateway.
If you want to build a long-term radio station, I suggest you apply for a second-level domain name to simplify your work, which can save you a lot of trouble (although this is not an effective means). Such a broadcast link is:
Mms // Your domain name, your broadcast port.
In a word, an Internet radio station needs to establish and publicize itself, attract listeners, and improve by excellent content, good connection speed and sound quality. I hope everyone's radio station will be more exciting. Start (a disease)
Hope to adopt. Thank you.
