Metallurgical engineering majors train senior engineering and technical personnel with solid basic theories and professional knowledge of metallurgical engineering, who can engage in product development and process design, production organization and management, technology development and scientific research in the fields of iron and steel metallurgy, non-ferrous metal metallurgy, metallurgy and material physical chemistry, chemical technology and so on.
Students majoring in metallurgical engineering mainly study the basic theory, production technology and equipment, experimental research, design methods, basic theory and knowledge of environmental protection and comprehensive utilization of resources of ferrous metals and nonferrous metals (including heavy, light, rare and precious metals), and receive basic training in smelting process formulation, engineering design, detection skills and scientific research. Have the ability to develop new technologies, new processes and new materials, and organize and manage industrial design and production.
