There is no Beijing Academy for Performing Arts, only Beijing Academy for Performing Arts. Beijing Academy of Performing Arts is a private non-academic institution of higher education.
Private non-academic institutions of higher education refer to private schools that have been approved by the education administrative department of Beijing and renewed their school licenses in accordance with the Law on the Promotion of Private Education in People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Regulations for the Implementation of the Law on the Promotion of Private Education in People's Republic of China (PRC).
Private non-academic institutions of higher education take the self-study examination of higher education as the teaching content, and can also carry out cultural education and training and vocational training. Students enrolled by private non-academic institutions of higher education can only obtain the nationally recognized academic diplomas with the seals of the examiners' colleges and the self-study examination offices, and the certificates issued by the schools themselves are not academic diplomas.
The predecessor of the college is Beijing Runliang Dance Art School, which was established in 1997, and Beijing Zhongbei International Performing Arts School, which was established in 2003. In 2006, the two schools merged into Beijing Academy of Performing Arts.
